As stated in our bylaws:
"The Treasurer shall be responsible for the finances of the chapter; receive and disperse the funds of the chapter; maintain accurate records of all chapter financial transactions and the chapter checking account, balance the chapter’s checkbook monthly, oversee planning of chapter budget and insure the approved budget is followed; determine a preliminary budget for the semester by the first executive committee meeting of each semester, complete a finalized budget by the third executive committee meeting of the semester. Provide the executive council a final budget from the previous semester by the first executive committee meeting of each semester; transmit to the National Office all fees and dues as prescribed by the National Fraternity; insure that all financial forms and reports prescribed by federal, state and school policies are filed as required. Be in charge of contacting the appropriate Drake University officials, at the time dues are due the following semester of failure to pay with the exception of graduating or transferring members then hold is to be placed immediately, to place holds on a member’s account in the event of failure to pay dues, fundraising penalty, returning their pin or paying replacement fee in the case of deactivation or failure to pay for chapter items purchased. Attend all executive committee and chapter meetings or send a representative; preside over chapter and executive committee meetings in the absence of the President, Service Vice Presidents, Membership and Alumni Vice President, and Fellowship Vice President; and such other duties applicable to the office as prescribed by the executive committee."
